Please accept this letter for my interest in this position.

I believe that a Head Girl should play a large part in school life, for the staff and the students.. For this position, one needs to have the ability to be a role model to the rest of the student body and the skill to inspire their peers. The role of a Head Girl is crucial. It is a role that requires patience, respect, care, the ability to work well in a team and a drive to make every student’s school life more comfortable, enjoyable and to support the reputation of the school.

Head Girl would mean that I would play a key role in the school community which is a responsibility that I am willing to do and I would be excited to take. It will help me to have the opportunity to become more involved with the school and being able to help improve and motivate the students of Brookes. Being a Head Girl doesn’t mean that you are the most popular, confident, beautiful or indeed the most intelligent girl in the school. I believe that a Head Girl needs to have a good balance of priorities and not only a good understanding and willingness to follow school rules respectfully but the ability to understand other pupils actions.

I do have my flaws but who doesn’t? I have found that if you are content and happy in your working environment then you will naturally work harder and put more effort into school work, which contributes to creating a well-rounded student. I would try my hardest to make sure the younger members of our school t to enjoy the environment. I have read a lot about been a leader in school. I was learning entrepreneurship and leadership as an extracurricular activity. My teacher was proud of me until it was canceled because it was just me. I felt bad but it didn’t make me to stop studying about it. This is a quote that motivates me to strive for my achievements: ”A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.”

Thank you for this opportunity.

Sincerely, Isatou.

Head Boy Application, Daniel.

Daniel

Dear Mr. King. This is my application for the inaugural position of Head Boy at Brookes Moscow.

I want to become Head Boy of Brooke’s because I am proud of Brookes and want to represent the school in the best way possible, and the way I can do that is becoming Head Boy and not only bettering our school and setting a good example, but building relationships with everyone and being opened minded, even if it is the unpopular opinion. I am a hard-working, loyal, and overall like-able person. But my most useful quality is my stubbornness and unwillingness to quit.

I am capable of handling many responsibilities, and am willing to work very hard to improve our school. I will make sure that every view, every idea will be heard, because I think that is a very important thing to have, especially in a school with so many different cultures and ethnicities. In my previous school, (Hinkson Christian Academy) a lot of people didn’t feel heard, which overtime, resulted to them actually leaving the school, because there was no one to listen to them. I want to be that person at Brookes, and I believe that I will do an amazing job as Head Boy.

I am comfortable talking to anyone, child or adult, in a polite and friendly manner. I excel at making good and strong relationships, as I’ve already made so many in this very school with teachers, my classmates, even some children in primary, who I’ve volunteered to help and play with several times.

I hope you consider my application,

Sincerely, Daniel

Head Girl Application, Julija.

Julija

Why will you choose me to be the Head Girl

Dear Mr. King:

Hello! I am Julija from Year 10B. I would like to be the head girl of Brookes Moscow.

I am a positive and active girl. I have a lot of hobbies. In my previous school, I often took part in different clubs and activities. For example, I was part of our school orchestra and played double bass. We won a lot of first prizes together. I was the president of our class book club, and I organised the meeting once a week. In addition, I was responsible for organising class meetings and our class charity. I do things very effectively so teachers trust me and give me a lot of important jobs. All of this not only makes my school life fuller, but also makes me a more responsible person.

I have a lot of diplomatic experiences. My previous school holds lectures for students once a month. They invite different famous people from the tops of science fields. I was in charge of greeting them and taking pictures. Each time, principals and presidents of the school and I showed the guests around the school and tell them the history of our school. This is kind of like a tradition, we already held 110+ lectures. I presented in about twenty of them, so I can confidently say that I am good at receiving guests.

I also have experience of presenting festivals and programs. I was the reporter of “good neighbours festival”. This live show lasts three hours and it was pretty cool. In addition, I have performed in the Beijing International Film Festival. That show is called “New Frozen”. I have given several speeches in front of the whole school and whole class before, I was a little bit shy at first, but practise makes perfect, so now I am a lot better than before. Furthermore, I was a model when I was young. All of this makes me more outgoing. The more events I take part in, the more confidence I feel.

I am very kind hearted, I often join a lot of charity events. In my previous school, I took part in a fundraising for children with leukaemia, I gave some lessons for orphans with my class, I donated some clothes and books for poor children in need. Every time I see children’s happy faces when they get the help from us, I feel so exciting, I love helping them. And I would like to organise some charities here as well. I believe that “The rose’s in her hand, the flavour is mine.”

I also like to help my classmates. I’m good at math, science and literature, so when someone needs any helps, I will proactively go and help them.

I know I still have something that I need to work hard on, like my English is not good enough. But I am trying my best, and I always willing to accept constructive criticism.

I really want to be the head girl of Brookes Moscow. I want to have an opportunity to show myself, and I love the feeling when I am standing on the stage in front of the crowd. I am very passionate about it. I want to represent Brookes Moscow with my optimism and positiveness, and make the school better. If I will be elected, I will try my best and never stop improving. You and the school can trust me. I am sure that I can handle this job.

Thank you for reading.

Sincerely, Julija

Head Girl Application, Sofi.

SophiaDear Mr. King

Thank you for considering my application for Brooke’s Moscow Head Girl position for the 2018/19 term.

I understand that this is an important position of great responsibility both for the school and my classmates. Particularly as we are a new school, it is important to set a good example and standard for this position for future classes. I assure you that I can take full responsibility for this role and I believe that I possess the personal qualities which support my selection for Head Girl.

I am a responsible and committed person who is interested in helping students, in educational experience and in improving our school’s community. I am personal enough to be approachable by all students and open minded and considerate to listen to and consider all views, even those which may not be popular or reflecting the majority opinion. In addition, I am a team player because I have participated in many teams sports and have fun.

On top of all that, I am comfortable speaking with all sorts of people of any age, child or adult, and am not afraid to voice my opinion even when that may not be popular or the expected. I am willing to state my positions in a polite and friendly manner, with a sense of humour, and not afraid to push back when challenged.

My previous school in London was international, where there were many different nationalities and cultures making up the student base, which taught me to appreciate diverse ethnicities and to recognize that everyone has a different point of view. The best approach is to pick the best practices from this diverse cultural base. I also believe my international family upbringing (Russian mother/English father) and time living abroad, gives me a large international view that is important for an international baccalaureate school such as Brookes.

On a selfish note, I also believe that the Head Girl role would be good for my own development in the skills as a leader and my speaking skills and welcome this chance to improve in this.

I hope you will consider my application and I would like to present my case in person.

Yours sincerely,

Sofi

IMG_9081Head Boy Application, Vincent.

Dear Mr King,

I would hereby like to formally apply for the vacant position of Head boy at Brookes Moscow, as advertised.

I believe that I would be able to make a considerable contribution to the school community if given this opportunity as I am principled, caring, knowledgeable and a good communicator. I feel that since I have had the opportunity to live in multiple countries and got to experience their different cultures, I will be able to be a good ambassador for Brookes, Moscow.

By being Principled, I understand the responsibility that comes with the position of being Head boy and that time management is a major part of getting things done, in a timely fashion. With this in mind, I have a good reputation as my homework is always done on time, I am always honest and always try my best in everything I do.

Through my Caring nature, I always take other’s feelings into consideration and will make sure that everyone is treated equally and fairly under my watch, and that all students at Brookes Moscow get an equal opportunity to become the best version of themselves that they can. I believe that everyone has a right to their opinions and that I would be able to give all students a voice that can be heard.

I consider myself to be a global citizen, and that living and attending IB schools in three different countries up to now have developed my understanding of a range of disciplines and world cultures. I like to share my knowledge with others and have a good work ethic, that allows me to find out what I don’t know, and don’t allow my ego to stand in the way to ask for help when needed.

I believe that the most important aspect of being a good communicator is listening. Listening for understanding, and not just listening to reply. Sometimes all a person wants is to be heard, and half the time they don’t even need an answer. We have two ears and only one mouth, so we should listen twice as much as what we speak.
I will use my life experiences and learn from those around me, to keep improving myself and better the skills needed to make a success of the position, should it be entrusted to me.
Because of my past experiences, I see things a lot different compared to others and that makes me open-minded and respectful to their feelings and opinions.

Thank you for taking your time to review my application.

“Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will believe its whole life believing that it is stupid.” – Albert Einstein

Yours sincerely,

Vincent
